Penumbreal is a small software company in the Netherlands.
The name comes from the penumbra, the half-shadow at the edge of an eclipse: the narrow band where shapes become visible before anything is certain. That is what Penumbreal builds software for. Seeing what is becoming visible, just before it becomes obvious.
Soluneal is a trade name of Penumbreal. It is the side that faces everyday users: small, careful apps for the Mac, made for things people do all day.
The first of them is Sonant, a menu bar music controller for Apple Music and Spotify.
